Anticipation: Noun b. the act of looking forward; especially : pleasurable expectation
From Merriam-Webster online.
You know that feeling of anticipation….maybe you’ve been waiting for vacation too long, or that next new album of your favorite artist, or just waiting for the end of the day on a Friday.
I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Sarah Addison Allen’s new book The Girl Who Chased the Moon. The wait is almost over, as the book comes out tomorrow. Picking up Garden Spells at Target was a definite stroke of good fortune. I’d seen it mentioned at one of my online book forums, and figured I would give the $5.99 “Try Something New” book a try. I’m so glad I did. I loved Allen’s magical writing style. It’s almost indescribable; her writing draws the reader in and you just can’t help but love her characters. Later, I found her second novel, The Sugar Queen, at the local bookstore and picked it up since I’d enjoyed Garden Spells. I enjoyed The Sugar Queen even more and have been eagerly anticipating her next novel since I read it.
And tomorrow morning, the wait will be over. I’ve already pre-ordered the book and it is ready to be downloaded to my Nook first thing tomorrow morning. Ah, I so look forward to the reading pleasure. If you’ve not tried out one of Allen’s books, I recommend you do so. Everyone who has borrowed one or both of the books has loved them. Highly recommended. I am quite excited!
